In 2025, Focus proudly took part in more than 80 community engagement and outreach events. It was a fantastic year for us, filled with opportunities to connect with local groups and meet so many wonderful people across North East Lincolnshire.
We’ve attended everything from social groups and church groups to Armed Forces Day weekend. We’ve been to events hosted by The Carers’ Support Service, The Later Life Partnership, Friendship at Home, Oasis Family Hub, NEL Parent Carer Forum, Humberston Park, Burchester Court, Strand Court, Docks Beers, and many more.

One highlight we’re especially proud of was partnering with Care Plus Group (CPG) to attend several of their social clubs. These sessions gave us the chance to raise awareness about Focus, and the North East Lincolnshire Single Point of Access (01472 256 256), while offering support with adult social care enquiries and signposting to local and regional services.
Over a six-week period, we visited seven social clubs, providing information, advice and guidance to more than 100 local residents. Here’s where we went:
- Brough Court Social Club – Coulbeck Drive, Cleethorpes, DN35 9HP
- Scartho Social Club – St Giles Avenue, Scartho, Grimsby, DN33 2HB
- South Grange Social Club – Centre4, Wootton Road, Nunsthorpe, Grimsby, DN33 1HE
- Annie Chapple Social Club – 21-22 Aspen Court, Cleethorpes, DN35 0SJ
- Humberston Social Club – Cleethorpes Cricket Club, Chichester Road, Cleethorpes, DN35 0HZ
- East Marsh Social Club – St Andrews Church, Albion Street, Grimsby, DN32 7DY
- West Marsh Community Centre – Beeson Street, Grimsby, DN31 2QH
During these visits, we answered questions on a wide range of topics, including falls prevention, support for carers, staying safe at home, and home adaptations. And yes, we even managed to join in a few games of bingo and cards along the way!
The weekly social clubs offer so much more than just activities. They provide a vital space for tackling social isolation, meeting new people, and trying new things. Attendees, club chairs and volunteers all highlighted how important these gatherings are for the local community.
