Meet the Social Work Academy Team

(in order: Christina, Katherine, Sarah, Steph and Candice)

The home of adult social work education and professional development in North East Lincolnshire.

We’re a group of committed, experienced social workers who love what we do and care about helping you succeed. Each of us brings a little heart, knowledge, and a lot of encouragement to the table.

This monthly blog is our way of keeping you up to date on what’s happening across the Academy and sharing resources to support your journey.

Celebrating Our Apprentices

A highlight this month has been the achievements of our apprentices. Balancing academic study with the demands of practice is no small task, and we are proud of their dedication, insight, and professionalism.

Special congratulations go to Vicky Jones and Laura Thornberry, who have now completed their apprenticeships and will soon graduate as qualified social workers. Your hard work and perseverance have truly paid off! Enjoy your graduation day.

Here’s a snapshot of our apprentices and mentors celebrating another successful year together.

Welcome to ‘The Nest’

We’re excited to invite you to The Nest – our dedicated  space for reflection and inspiration. At the heart of The Nest is our blackboard wall, where everyone is encouraged to write their own thoughts on “What Social Work Is”. Together, we can create an inspiring reminder of why we do what we do.

We warmly welcome all visitors – apprentices, students, practitioners, and colleagues – to stop by, take a moment, have a chat and add your voice to the wall.

Coming next month:

  • Our new apprentices and the start of their journey!
  • Details on the resources we have available – all welcome to use!
  • Upcoming training opportunities and group sessions.
